INTERVIEW ON THE PRICE OF BUSINESS SHOW, MEDIA PARTNER OF THIS SITE.
Recently Kevin Price, Host of the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, interviewed Ernestine Benedict.
On a recent Price of Business, host Kevin Price visited with Ernestine Benedict to discuss the rise of book banning in the US. This month we observed “Banned Books Week” (October 1st thru 7th) as Let Freedom Read Day on Saturday, October 7th.
Banned Books Week Banned Books Week was launched in 1982 in response to a sudden surge in the number of challenges to books in libraries, bookstores, and schools. Typically (but not always) held during the last week of September, the annual event highlights the value of free and open access to information and brings together the entire book community — librarians, educators, authors, publishers, booksellers, and readers of all types — in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas. Also, LeVar Burton (Reading Rainbow, Star Trek, Roots) is the first actor to serve as honorary chair of Banned Books Week. About Let Freedom Read Day On October 7th we’re asking everyone to take at least one action to help defend books from censorship and to stand up for the library staff, educators, writers, publishers, and booksellers who make them available!
