Elon Musk Finally Apologizes Over Paul Pelosi Tweet
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has finally apologized for tweeting a link to a rumored conspiracy to murder House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The tweet, which was deleted shortly after it was posted, resurfaced after the release of a body camera video.
The tweet was retweeted tens of thousands of times. It was rumored that the tweet was meant to poke fun at the New York Times, a newspaper that reported on the tweet.
However, a spokesman for the paper said that it was actually a joke about a Hungarian nationalist group that is linked to Nazis. While the tweet may have been a gimmick, it was a good way to get attention.
Among other things, the tweet mentioned the New York Times. But the story did not mention the fact that the paper was actually reporting on a rumored conspiracies to murder Pelosi.
Several weeks ago, Pelosi suffered from a fractured skull and underwent surgery to treat it. This was in the same week that an attack on the home of her husband Paul Pelosi, the former Speaker of the House, was revealed. David DePape, the man accused of the assault, was charged with attempted murder, elder abuse, and burglary.
After the release of the body cam footage, some were surprised that Musk did not directly apologize. Some even suggested that advertisers pull business from the platform.
However, in an indirect response, Musk pointed out that there was a “tiny possibility” that there were more things to this story than were apparent from the footage.
