Co-Creation in Coaching

Co-creation is the concept of two or more entities collaborating to create something new. Particles in quantum physics can become entangled and influence each other simultaneously from a distance. Similarly, quantum coaching sees the coach and client as inextricably linked co-creators of the client’s destiny.

In traditional coaching, the coach is viewed as the expert who uses tried-and-true procedures to “fix” the client. However, quantum coaching recognises the client as the foremost expert in their life. Client and coach collaborate effectively, bringing unique perspectives and resources to the table. This democratisation increases the client’s authority and agency in the change process.

Co-creation begins with building trust and rapport. This helps the coach and client achieve coherence, similar to synchronising brain waves. A third possibility emerges from this combined realm that neither could have imagined alone. Client experiences are validated and reframed with curiosity rather than judgement. This empathic discussion extracts inherent insight. The client and coach provide reciprocal comments, boosting each other’s improvement.

Improvisational skills enable the coach and client to co-create in the moment. They let go of preconceptions and listened intently. Each step forward brings results. There is open dialogue and no unilateral counsel. Open inquiries unfreeze entrenched mindsets. Fallibility is celebrated, providing psychological safety for revising weak stories. The coach and client collaborate to envision exciting new futures.

The coaching connection becomes an unending exploration. The possibility is growing between them, ready to crystallise into existence. They bring dreams to life. Co-creation awakens dormant potential.
